Get your beauty sleep
Sleep is the time when our body regenerates and repairs the heart and blood vessels. Seven to eight hours of sleep a night will ensure your body gets the rest it needs. Benefits of sleep include reduced inflammation, improved memory, and healthy weight. For those finding it difficult to ‘switch off’, make sure to disconnect from electronic devices several hours before falling asleep and create a dark environment to block out all light.
Move your body
Regular exercise is crucial to cerebrovascular health. Improved brain function, relief from depression, and better sleep are a few of the benefits of consistent physical activity. Incorporate daily walks, get up from your desk every few hours, conduct household chores, and hit the gym to ensure an active life.
An adult human’s body is made up of 60 per cent water. It serves to lubricate the joints, detoxify the body of wastes, and maintain a comfortable body temperature. Starting off the day with a glass of water is an excellent way to accelerate the metabolism. Add herbal teas, water-rich fruits, and vegetables to your diet throughout the day to ensure you’re well hydrated.
As we become multitasking machines, we are taxing our bodies and minds. Stress is the leading cause of hypertension, insomnia, cardiovascular disease, and various other health conditions. Manage the stress with laughter (hormones released while laughing are proven stress-busters), meditation, and positivity. Remember to step back occasionally and relax.
High sugar intake is the root cause of obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, and a multitude of other health issues. As we consume more processed sugars, we ‘block out’ the nutrients from natural foods. Eat more fruits, dark chocolate, and other natural sugars to get essential sugar energy
