Ett Hem, Stockholm
Written by Oryx
Ett Hem is a stylish 12-room hotel situated in Stockholm’s smart embassy quarter of Östermalm in Sköldungagatan, a 10-minute walk from the city centre.
Ett Hem translates as ‘a home’ and, indeed, guests are encouraged to make themselves at home – by helping themselves to treats and healthy food from the well-stocked fridge, settling into a deep sofa in the cosy lounge with a book from the extensive library, and enjoying the hotel’s bikes.
The stylish interiors are characterised by Scandinavian antiques and design classics, fine furniture, and beautiful objects rich in history. The hotel’s 12 rooms comprise five room types. The five spacious junior suites feature city or garden views, with king-size bed and marble-clad bathroom with walk-in rain shower. Some feature a fireplace, and two have balconies.
The largest room at Ett Hem is the 54 sqm suite, with a four-poster bed, a sitting area with sofa and chaise longue, a dining area, and a tiled stove. Guests can also book connecting rooms, an entire floor, or the whole house for exclusive use.
The kitchen is the heart of the hotel, and in addition to breakfast, a daily changing menu is available for lunch or dinner at any time, with ingredients sourced from the hotel’s organic farm. Dining options include casually in the kitchen or more formally in the library. Otherwise, a meal can be enjoyed in the greenhouse or outside in the courtyard garden.
Additionally, guests can unwind in the Relax Room, featuring a traditional Swedish sauna, hot stone slab, gym, and treatment room for a soothing massage.
