Faena Hotel Miami Beach
Written by Oryx
The stylish new hotel marks the first phase of openings in the Faena District Miami Beach, a new neighbourhood rooted in arts and culture.
Formerly the historic Saxony Hotel, Faena Hotel Miami Beach features 169 rooms and suites and 13 penthouse residences spanning the top two floors of the property. Hotelier Alan Faena enlisted film director/producer Baz Luhrmann and Academy Award-winning costume designer Catherine Martin to develop the narrative for the essence of Faena Hotel Miami Beach.
The Saxony was one of Miami Beach’s first luxury hotels and was considered the epitome of modern glamour in the 1950s and 1960s, where Hollywood icons Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and Dean Martin entertained the crowds. The new hotel recalls this glamour with its stunning art deco appeal and old-world grandeur, while featuring an impressive collection of modern artworks by Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons, among others.
The hotel’s open-fire kitchen, Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann, offers a contemporary take on the Argentine dining experience, while Pao by Paul Qui at the Dome serves up the chef’s renowned brand of modern Asian cuisine.
The hotel’s Tierra Santa Healing House is a South American-inspired spa dedicated to the art of wellbeing, with a holistic approach to healing, fitness, and relaxation.
