Klaus K Hote, Helsinki
Written by Oryx
Located in Helsinki’s vibrant city centre, Klaus K is a modern design hotel with a rich history.
Klaus K hotel is housed in a combination of two architecturally important buildings in Finland’s capital city, one originally built in 1882 and the other built in 1912.
The 171-room hotel takes inspiration from Finland’s national epic, the Kalevala, and elements of the 19th-century fable are woven throughout the interiors of the property.
Making up the two additional levels atop the historic structure, the hotel’s loft rooms are split into four categories. The Sky Studios face the peaceful inner courtyard; the Sky Studios with Balcony boast park and city views; while the Sky Lofts have high ceilings, allowing natural light from the skylight windows to flood the rooms.
The hotel’s crowning glory, the Sky Suite, is a large room featuring a unique egg-shaped bed, a lounge with a games table, and a spacious bathroom with a separate bathtub and rain shower. The room also has its own balcony with views over the Boulevard and Esplanade Park.
The hotel features several spaces for socialising including The LIVINGROOM, situated in the lobby, and Italian restaurant Toscanini, a modern country-style kitchen with a Tuscan-inspired menu.
