Royal Mansour Marrakech
Written by Oryx
Set within the walls of the old city, Royal Mansour Marrakech sits on a 3.5-hectare estate comprising a hotel and 53 riads nestled amongst winding passageways and leafy courtyards.
The hotel recently reopened after a renovation project to extend the gardens, and add a swimming pool and outdoor restaurant.
The extension to the gardens unveils a lush landscaped space, offering new features including the large swimming pool surrounded by a sun deck furnished with sun loungers. Beyond it lies a vast lawn with pockets of greenery that create private corners dotted throughout the gardens.
Seven new pavilions, hidden among shrubs and palm trees next to the pool and the sun deck, offer guests the comfort and peace of a private salon. The kids’ pavilion is set apart from the relaxation areas so children can play freely without disturbing the peacefulness of the gardens.
Using coal fire and his expert gastronomic techniques, Michelin-starred Chef Yannick Alléno’s new restaurant creates delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, served on the garden-side tables.
The restaurant joins the hotel’s other three restaurants, all of which are under the consultancy of Chef Alléno, including traditional Moroccan, French haute cuisine with a Moroccan slant, and the international La Table.
Riads feature an interior courtyard, a sitting room, and, in bigger riads, a dining room. Upstairs, the bedrooms and bathrooms open onto a gallery looking down into the courtyard.
A private roof terrace features plunge pool, fireplace, and a tented space for private hammam treatments.
An ingenious system of underground tunnels allow staff to access the riads swiftly and discreetly, ensuring absolute privacy and quiet.
