What’s in my travel bag: Christian Louboutin

The superstar shoe designer reveals his essential travel items, and tells us why the women of Qatar inspire him. Just don’t ask him where he goes on holiday.

“I love the sun, the one true vitamin. There are a few places I go to that allow me to escape the madness of the fashion industry. You have to keep these places secret, so I’m afraid I won’t be giving you any of my hideaway addresses! The next places on my travel itinerary are New York City for my friends’ 25th wedding anniversary, and then it’s on to India for work.

“I love Qatar; I have been there three times in the last few years and it changes drastically every time I go. The Museum of Islamic Art is fantastic; the Pei building is a masterpiece. Qatari women have a strong sense of how to put themselves together; the way they walk is always very feminine and they have such extreme intensity in their eyes.”
