Dining at The Pearl-Qatar
Written by Oryx
From the popular American diner Chocolate Bar, to the soon-to-be-launched Urban Jazz Kitchen, dining options at The Pearl-Qatar in Doha promise a varied culinary experience.
Luca Brambilla believes that a ‘full-bodied’ dining experience should always be about family, friends, and food, a philosophy derived from his close-knit Italian upbringing, and he also believes that the Qatari culture is reflective of this same mindset. As the new corporate director of food and beverage for Hospitality Development Company (HDC), Luca brings his culinary experience to the rapidly expanding dining developments at The Pearl-Qatar, which includes a total of seven new home-grown ventures and two world-famous franchises.
For his biggest and most exciting project to date, Luca is putting his passion and skill into the creation of what will be HDC’s premium Italian restaurant, Giulietta. Now an ambassador of gourmet Italian food, Luca grew up on a rural farm in the picturesque region of Tuscany, central Italy, where he first harnessed an appetite and passion for the kitchen as he watched his grandmother lovingly prepare fresh and exciting meals for the entire family. “My dishes are always meticulous and inspiring, with one foot firmly set in the complex tradition of Italian cooking, and the other boldly exploring new territories,” he says.
Other new concepts include Qatar’s first ever branch of the UK-import Wafflemeister, and the popular Mexican restaurant cantina, Isla – a premium casual eatery geared towards relaxed dining. Alongside these two franchises, Luca is developing exciting concepts such as Urban Jazz Kitchen, a lifestyle café that brings music and quick bites together, while café concepts Spice Jar (Indian) and Phuket Jam (Thai) will add two stylish, modern eateries to The Pearl-Qatar.
