Friday brunch is big in Doha, and Choices at Oryx Rotana serves one of the best, with live jazz and an ever-changing, extensive selection of dishes.

Choices has a good reputation on the Doha brunch scene and attracts newcomers as well as many regular guests, who come to enjoy the international cuisine with friends and family while a live jazz band provides a lively atmosphere.

Speciality chef Rawad Al Chaar heads up the team of ten kitchen staff that creates dishes from around the globe. The 265-cover restaurant is always busy come Friday, with diners spilling out onto the outside terrace that provides space for 310 more.

The extensive buffet serves a selection of food that varies weekly but includes fresh oysters on ice, lobster and shrimp barbecued on the terrace, grilled meats, sushi and tempura, a wok station for noodles and stir fries, an omelette station, a fresh pasta station, tapas, and Choices' famous roasted prime beef ribs with Yorkshire pudding. A team of pastry chefs prepares a huge selection of pastries, cakes, and desserts, with chocolate from gourmet French chocolatier Valrhona. There's also a kids' corner that includes ice cream and a chocolate fountain.

Despite the huge variety of cuisine on offer, if there is something you want that is not at the buffet, you need only ask and it is offered immediately. Situated in live cooking stations the chefs can interact with guests, as well as make recommendations, and cook to order; just a few of the reasons the restaurant won the title of Favourite Brunch in the Qatar Choice Awards at the end of last year.
