Suite 1521 founders Lizzie Tisch and Kim Kassel share what makes Madison Avenue from 70th to 79th Street on the Upper East Side special.

Across the hall from our offices is the renowned Wright Gallery, newly opened here in February. For inspiration, we often wander through the incredible collection of iconic objects and furniture from mid-century designers such as Eames, Nakashima, Perrland, and Prouvé.

One floor down, Exhale Spa is our favourite place for fitness and beauty. There’s nothing like ending the day with a yoga ‘chill’ class to restore a sense of balance and calm.

Just around the corner is The Mark Hotel, a 1927 landmark recently refurbished by Jacques Grange – the bar is without question the chicest spot on Madison Avenue for dinner or a drink after work.

Adjacent to the hotel is the Assouline Bookstore, offering the most sophisticated selection of rare and classic volumes, as well as a surprising array of unique objets d’art

Eliza’s Eyesis a jewel box of a salon that we couldn’t live without. Eliza, renowned as the ‘Queen of the Arch’, is the ultimate eyebrow guru. Popular with celebrities and A-listers, appointments are hard to come by, but definitely a must!

Another remarkable find is Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. Sales associates, otherwise known as ‘matchmakers’, get up close and personal to help you find your signature scent from his exclusive Éditions de Parfums.

Zitomer Pharmacyis a far cry from your everyday chemist. Famous for its upscale beauty products and legendary apothecary, you can also find lingerie, children’s clothing, and every variety of candle.

Across the street from Suite 1521 is Stubbs and Wootton, whose handmade slippers are the ultimate in comfortable chic. We’re huge fans of their bespoke offering which allows you to create your own!

When it comes to food, this neighbourhood has all of our favourites – from the salted-caramel macarons at Ladurée to the paninis and cappuccinos at Via Quadronno. But our go-to lunch – virtually every day – is 3 Guys Restaurant, which we consider to be the ultimate Manhattan coffee shop.

Of course, any chance we get, we slip off to the Whitney Museum of American Art, located nearby. It always reminds us of how fortunate and privileged we are to live and work in such a glorious part of the USA’s pre-eminent city.
