Written by Oryx
Oryx presents its insider’s tips for places to visit in April. Experience the Maldives before monsoon season, take part in Thailand’s New Year festivities, and enjoy sunny Cyprus in full bloom.
April is one of the best months to visit the Maldives, falling at the end of the high season before the monsoons in May. A transitional month, it’s mostly dry with hot temperatures of up to 32°C cooled by sea breezes, and clear, warm waters of around 29°C. Each luxury resort occupies its own private island, making it the perfect destination for a quiet romantic getaway, honeymoon, or spa holiday, as well as water adventures. April falls in the surfing season, and diving conditions are good all year round.

Cyprus in full bloom
Cyprus is very sunny year-round, and although summer is the most popular season, April is ideal – when the weather is sunny but not too hot, and the landscape is in full bloom. The Mediterranean island offers plenty of sandy beaches and ancient sights, as well as hiking and cycling trails in the forested Troodos Mountains.
