plan ahead - July
Written by Oryx
Oryx presents its insider’s tips for places to visit in July, which is the ideal month for all kinds of trips: beach escapes, city breaks, and family holidays.
The dry season is now in full swing, marking the beginning of Zanzibar’s best few months. Average daytime and sea temperatures of around 26°C make July one of the best months for water-based activities. Surrounded by brilliant white beaches and a barrier reef on the eastern side, Zanzibar is great for diving and snorkelling. Away from the beach, Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar – a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has barely changed since the 19th-century. With its bustling bazaars, mosques, and grand Arab houses, you can spend hours exploring the labyrinth of narrow streets and winding alleys.
