Paris – blossoming with colour
Paris begins to shine in April, one of the best months to visit this romantic city. Just outside Paris, the Palace of Versailles is one of the most opulent castles in the world, with impeccably groomed gardens coming to life in late March. Of course, a trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without a visit to some of the well-known tourist spots. Stroll down the city’s most famous avenue, Champs-Élysées, for luxury shopping, ascend the Eiffel Tower for a romantic view of the city, and see the Mona Lisa and more at the Louvre.
Distance: 4,980 km

Morocco – cool and uncrowded
Morocco is at its best in spring before the extreme heat of summer. Its largest city Casablanca represents modern Morocco and is a great base from which to visit the imperial cities of Rabat and Fes. Visit Kasbah des Oudaias in Rabat, a beautiful citadel overlooking the ocean, and the medina in Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Fes to Marrakech, travel via Beni Mellal and Cascades d’Ouzoud. Then discover the real Marrakech by getting lost in the labyrinthine souqs inside the ancient city walls.

Maldives – beach breaks
April is a prime time to visit the Maldives, being the tail end of the dry season. The archipelago nation in the Indian Ocean offers plenty to do in and under the water. Spend the day snorkelling, dive among the vibrant reefs, sail around the islands, take to the surf, or take a night reef fishing trip at sunset. For a romantic getaway, head to a deserted island for a candlelit dinner under the stars or indulge in a spa treatment on a secluded jetty.

Frequency: 2 flights a day
Venice – culture without the queues
Visit Venice in spring when the weather is pleasant but before the huge crowds (and queues) of summer arrive. Take in the sights of the city from a gondola ride along the Grand Canal; wander around Campo Santa Maria Formosa, one of Venice’s largest squares; and visit Saint Mark’s Basilica, with its rich history and grand architecture. Don’t miss out the islands in the Venetian lagoon; head to Venice’s historic glass island Murano; the fishermen’s and lacemakers’ island Burano; or its rural next-door neighbour Torcello.
