Oryx presents its insider’s tips for places to visit in June. Warmer weather and longer days allow travellers to experience the Midnight Sun in Stockholm, enjoy water sports and walking trails in Larnaca, and discover Prague’s historic landmarks.
June is the best time to visit Stockholm if you want to experience outdoor events and activities, warm temperatures of up to 21°C, and long hours of daylight known as the Midnight Sun. Stockholm is an archipelago of 14 islands connected by 57 bridges, so hop aboard a sightseeing boat to discover the city from the water. Gamla Stan, the Old Town, is one of the largest and best-preserved medieval city centres in Europe. Walk through the winding cobblestone streets lined with stores full of handicrafts, antiques, and art galleries, and stop at a cosy café.

During June, Prague enjoys average temperatures of 15–17°C. Visit Prague Castle first thing to beat the crowds, then stroll over Charles Bridge and along the Vltava river. Discover the sights in Old Town such as the Prague Astronomical Clock, before enjoying a traditional meal on a restaurant terrace.
With an average temperature in June of 25°C and sea temperature of around 22°C, enjoy sunbathing and water sports at one of Larnaca’s long sandy beaches. Away from the big resorts, Larnaca is also a haven for walkers, with rocky plains and sprawling fields scattered with windmills and wild flowers.
