luxe shopping - Goethestraße, Frankfurt
Written by Birgit Jaretz Content by personal shopper Silke Gerloff
As famous as the German poet Goethe is the elegant shopping street in Frankfurt’s city centre.
Concentrated in a short and narrow street, big European designer names are lined up in a row. Shopping lovers can find high-class fashion as well as shoes, jewellery, and accessories with a focus on Italian and German high-end brands including Prada, Armani, Jil Sander, and Bogner. This convenient spot next to the banking district offers a cross between classical smart accessories from Ferragamo, Tods, and Louis Vuitton, and a young and trendy style designed by Miu Miu and Jimmy Choo. Not only lady shoppers feel their hearts beat when strolling around Goethestraße. This venue is also a gentlemen’s attraction: the Italian label Zegna offers men’s fashion while the famous French Lalique store provides limited collections of glass arts for collectors.
Around the corner is the pedestrian street called Zeil, featuring big department stores. The recently opened shopping mall MyZeil combines regional stores and international labels on eight floors. Need a break? Head for the Alte Oper at the end of Goethestraße. This Old Opera House in Wilhelminian style offers culinary delights in the Opéra restaurant with one of the most appealing ambiances and a beautiful view over the opera square. Contact
