spa - Thermes Marins spa

Monaco may be one of the world’s tiniest countries – but it has one of the biggest names for glamour, style, and sheer indulgence.
Monte Carlo’s Thermes Marins (translated as ‘The Sea Baths’) is one of Europe’s largest and most acclaimed spas. It occupies a beautiful spot on the cliffs, overlooking the old harbour and the Mediterranean.
The spa is open to all but, as it stands next to the famous Hôtel Hermitage and Hôtel de Paris, hotel guests have the extra privilege of being able to stroll to the four-storey spa from their rooms in dressing gowns and slippers via a private tunnel. Thermes Marins has a serene atmosphere thanks to its modern, minimalist design, filled with natural light from giant sea-facing windows. Highlights include a huge seawater swimming pool, sun terrace, enormous gym area, and restaurant serving healthy food.
True to its name, Thermes Marins specialises in seawater treatments. These combine ancient therapies of natural seawater with modern advances such as aquagym sessions, underwater massage, and seaweed body wraps. Pressotherapy is offered for cellulite reduction, Japanese shiatsu massage treatment for relaxation and invigorating sophrology exercises for increasing positivity. Sports stars are also attracted by the spa’s high-tech machines and nutritional counselling. You may even see dancers from the Monte Carlo Ballet here.
Old Fashioned Shave
The spa offers treatments for male visitors too – including the Old Fashioned Shave – a meticulous six-stage ritual lasting 45 minutes. This traditional treat includes preparation of the face with hot towels, application of shaving mousse with a traditional brush, a post-shave face massage and application of essential oils. It may be the world’s most luxurious shave.
