wish list - Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, South Africa
Written by Oryx
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve comprises just 22 rooms split between four small Relais & Chateaux accredited lodges. The 22,000 hectares of wilderness are home to the ‘big five’, as well as a diverse number of smaller and more unusual species.
Guests have the use of a private safari vehicle, ranger, and tracker, as well as a butler and chef, inviting them to set the tone and order of events each day of their stay. The design concept is distinctively South African, with colonial-style furniture and custom-made pieces echoing the look of the local environment. A feeling of understated luxury is achieved with bespoke fittings and a neutral palette, which aids relaxation after a day in the intense experience of the South African wilderness. The villa is split into a variety of open-plan and secluded spaces, with private decks, covered verandas for al fresco dining, and a sunbed-equipped pool area.
