Viovio Starting at US$4.99
Never heard of Viovio? They recognise that. In fact, they tout it, pointing out that they lack the ‘outrageous marketing budgets’ of their competitors, letting them pass savings – up to half the cost of other sites – on to the consumer. But this isn’t a cut-rate operation; with support for Apple’s iPhoto, portfolio printing, and full self-publishing options, Viovio also boasts the broadest array of size choices for your album of any site, with literally dozens of shapes and configurations.
Shutterfly Starting at US$12.99
Designed with the novice in mind, Shutterfly offers photographers two options: the Simple Path, by which you upload your pictures, pick a style, and let the programme arrange your pictures for you; or the Custom Path, by which you have a wider variety of backgrounds and can place your pictures however you want, using as many as 1,000 pictures. Both versions are available in five sizes, with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. And coupons are aplenty.
KODAK Starting at US$9.99
‘Spend as little as US$10 and 15 minutes to tell your story.’ That’s the Kodak photobook pitch, and they continue their efforts to make the creative process easier, including availability of an artistic designer to create an ‘heirloom album’ for you. Later this year, Kodak plans to launch capability to create your album offline and print it right at home on your own printer, for the ultimate in convenience.
Snapfish Starting at US$11.99
The biggest of the Photobook sites, Snapfish products are professionally stitched and bound, printed on acid-free, archival-quality paper. Design choices are abundant, with dozens of designs covering occasions from weddings to holidays to vacations. Cover choices include linen, custom hardcover, softcover, and more. If you haven’t been to Snapfish lately, check out their huge array of images from LIFE magazine, great for the creative touch to your photobook project.
Bookify Starting at US$2.95
